Last Owners Story

I bought the vehicle from a good friend in 1998. He has since passed away. However, he took excellent care of the vehicle and also had an MG show car that was immaculate. A little history on the vehicle: My friend bought the vehicle from my brother-in-law that found it stored in a garage in the Santa Rosa, California area. John was the second owner of the Healey. My brother-in-law is a mechanic, had the vehicle running an hour after they got it to John's place. Over the next few years, he restored the car completely: transmission, rear end, starter and generator, rings & bearings, brakes, carburetors,… John spent numerous hours stripping to bare metal and applying approximately 10 coats of high quality paint. He took both of his vehicles to numerous car shows in California winning many awards.

In the envelope package that I will send you, you will find that he kept a lot of receipts as I did. Included is the original owners manual/handbook as well as many receipts. There is a vehicle registration and title that I received when I bought the car from him. I have also included an envelope with plaques of some of the shows I attended over the years including Pinetop, Arizona, Hot August Nights in Reno, Nevada and an International Healey show in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I also mentioned to you in our phone conversation that I had insulated the area between the exhaust and the driver's floor beneath the vehicle with airplane insulation to cut down on the heat especially during the summer months. It seems to help keep it cooler. I had also replaced the fan blades with a high flow unit to keep the vehicle running cooler. After that I had no problems with overheating.

I was the third owner of the car. It has always been garaged since I have had it. Hope this info helps. Many other improvements have been made over the years to keep the Healey in excellent shape through out its life.
